Fund Description

The American Funds Income Fund of America Class C (IFACX) is an actively managed fund that focuses on high income from both dividends and interest. The fund invests in both stocks and bonds in an effort to create a high-yielding portfolio with a moderate amount of risk. IFACX primarily focuses its attention on large-cap, dividend-paying stocks in the U.S. and abroad. The bond side mostly holds investment-grade debt, however, the fund can invest up to 20% of its assets in bonds rated below investment grade.

With its low costs, IFACX makes an ideal core choice for investors looking for income from their portfolios. The fund is managed by Capital Research and Management Company.
