Fund Description

The fund pursues its investment objective by establishing long and short positions in a diversified portfolio of equity securities. Substantially all of the equity securities in which the fund takes long and short positions will be included in the fund's benchmark index, the Russell 1000 Index, at the time the position is taken. As a result, the fund will invest significantly in large-capitalization companies.

Scott M. Tonneson, CFA, began working in the financial industry in 1994 and joined FAF in 2007. Prior to that, he worked at Ameriprise Financial as a quantitative equity analyst, business analyst, and account analyst. He joined Nuveen Asset Management on January 1, 2011, in connection with its acquisition of a portion of FAF’s asset management business.

Mr. Doll, CFA, serves as a leading member of Nuveen Asset Management's Equities investing team. Prior to join Nuveen, served as senior advisor to BlackRock.
