Cheerful financial advisor
What is your joy? Chances are you spent some time making New Year’s resolutions and identifying your goals for this year. But did you happen to take any time thinking about what brings you joy as a financial advisor?

On a bad day, you have probably grumbled about what you hate about being an advisor. But have you ever taken the time to create a list of why it truly is great to be a financial advisor today?

While it is not exhaustive, the following are some really awesome reasons why it’s great to be a financial advisor in 2020.

Follow our Practice Management center to differentiate yourself with new ideas and build enduring client relationships.

A Noble Calling

Every day is certainly not puppy dogs and rainbows when you are a financial advisor. This is the case with any profession. However, there are many reasons to be happy to be a financial advisor. One of the biggest reasons? Your job is a noble calling.

Why? Because every day you are helping to make your clients’ financial dreams a reality. Think about it. You are their coach to stick to a long-term plan. You are their navigator through the sometimes turbulent waters. You provide them with financial peace of mind so that they can sleep at night. This is truly a noble calling!

Enjoy the Gold

Your clients work hard to earn their paychecks. You help them to plan for their retirement years so that they can enjoy the gold of their golden years.

Financial advisors are the only profession that can help people fund their retirement. Being able to retire with a feeling of security brings your clients joy and it should bring you joy as well.

Achieve Higher Learning

Through the discipline of diligent saving and investing, you also help your clients create a plan to send their children and even their grandchildren to college. Higher learning can become a reality when you guide your clients through one of the most expensive financial burdens they will face.

People Need You

Your expertise should not be taken lightly. People need your financial expertise and guidance.

Investors are overwhelmed and often extremely confused when it comes to their investments and all the decisions they need to make. The education and experience you bring your clients and prospects is a necessity and also extremely meaningful.

The Human Touch

While the rise of the robo advisor is significant, robos will never be able to replace the human touch of financial advisors.

Face-to-face communication cannot be replicated by robo advisors. Robots cannot listen nor be empathetic. They are not capable of feeling.

Money is an emotional topic. So your personalized approach of working with clients and prospects and sharing their emotions should make you feel joy because you cannot be replaced!

Leaving a Legacy

Aside from leaving a legacy of assets, you can also help your clients leave a lasting legacy of their values.

By helping them with their philanthropic desires and uncovering the core values they have that motivate them to invest with you, you are helping them to leave a legacy that truly matters for generations to come.

Freedom

The benefits of being a financial advisor may be far greater than other professions. It provides you with great freedom. Not only do you run your own business, but you have unlimited earning potential, a flexible work schedule, as well as the ability to customize your practice any way you want, while working with clients that you enjoy. The freedom of being an advisor is pretty awesome, don’t you think?

The Bottom Line

While it is not an easy job, you can’t argue that being a financial advisor is also extremely rewarding. It really does bring you joy when you think about it, doesn’t it?

Did you think of something that’s not on this list? Add on to it, this is just a start.

Next time you are having a bad day, take a look at the list and reflect on all the reasons you’ve chosen a really great profession.

Taking the time to find the joy in every day will lead to greater happiness, increased energy, better health, renewed inspiration and an overall more fulfilling life! How’s that for job satisfaction? Here’s to your most joyous year yet.
